Teachers Resume

When marketing your self on the job market you need a powerful and effective marketing tool and the best way to advertise yourself is to create an effective resume. A teacher resume has to be short and specific. If you are a first time teacher then your resume should not be more than one page and even for an experienced teacher the resume should not exceed two pages, a teacher resume should be briefly written and be presented in a straight forward manner. The resume should be able to communicate to your principles that you are the best candidate for the job.

In a teacher resume the most important aspect is experience if you have had any teaching experience before, then this will an advantage to you, if you are ever worked with toddlers, teens then you need to convey the message of your classroom experiences. Your resume has to include how your where able to benefit students life and improve standards at a school.

Since teachers are involved in more than just teaching student their respective subjects they are also in charge of their extra curricular activities that are offered at schools this means that means that if you have any interest, hobbies, and activities that you participate in such as playing sports (soccer, rugby, cricket, hockey), or you can play an instrument, or you go to church then you need to highlight that in the resume because this will increase your chances of getting the job if you are both mentally and physically talented.

There is a certain format for writing your teacher resume. For example

  1. You have to start off with identification, this includes your personal (name, age, sex, height, weight, etc), and your contact details (address, cell number, home number, referees contact details), when writing the resume you name should be printed boldly and larger than any other print on that page.
  2. the second section on the resume has to be a detailed section of your certification from recognized certification bodies, you need to write your certification and any other endorsements, the dates that you graduated and the details of you degrees and or majors, you need to write these in reverse chronological order, and were necessary include the certificate number.
  3. The third item on the resume is the teaching experience that you possess. In this section it is important to write these down making use of action words that make your resume stand out among the rest of the resumes. You will need to describe all the experience you have gone through in the classroom, and detail the skills that and strategies that you have developed to manage the classroom. You will also need to write in this section all class room methods you have developed and any experience that you have with students with special needs for example disabled children (deaf, dumb, blind, cripple, etc) in this section include the job title you held at the school for example senior master, and include your daily activities and responsibilities.
