A student resume has to highlight your various achievements and accomplishments as a student in different projects and activities that you have engaged in, examples of such projects and activities include summer jobs and part time jobs.
A student’s resume has to be simply and very specific because most hiring managers don’t have the time to read all the resumes tat they receive especially not from students, thus the need to keep it simple and straight to the point. A student resume can however afford to be generalized because there is not much information such academic qualifications and past working experience to talk about in the resume; this means that you have to include a section that speaks about your interests and hobbies for example playing sports, listening to music, watching movies and traveling etc.
In the student resume you have to specify all the details about your internship for example the way you budgeted your money during the internship. Your have to include in your resume the part time jobs that you did giving details such as employer, the dates of employment, and your contribution the company in terms of increasing production, efficiency, budget and creating extra revenue.
Your student resume has to show how you are able to save time meet deadlines, manage time, and save time. The more you present your self as a person who is able to save time and improve efficiency at the company then the better the chances of you getting the job.
Here are a few tips in how to make your resume presentable and more appealing as a student resume. The first thing you have to ensure is that there is consistency and uniformity in the presentation of the work because you need to ensure that it remains visually exciting and that it catches the attention of the reader and that the reader can get the message being communicated to them in the resume just from taking a glance at the resumes, there are things you need to avoid in order to keep the resume r5eadable and attractive for example you should avoid using italics in the resume, you should ensure that the font size is not too large or too small for example it should not be less than size 10 font size, the best option is a size 12 font size and try not to mix type faces because this will make it very hard to read, avoid fancy typefaces just stick to the normal Times, and Arial.
You should remember that the first and most important part of the resume is your identification such as your personal information (name, D.O.B, Sex, race, height, religion, weight, etc) and your contact details (home and cell number, address, and referees addresses) all this information is important and will help the employer analyze a lot of things about you just from looking at this information.
