Operations Manager Resume

A resume is a good self marketing tool. So it is imperative that you market you self as best as you can. Professionalism is what you resume should resemble r symbolize. A resume is a piece of paper that represents you and you should make sure it reflects who you are on a personal and professional level. You should present you information clearly and quickly as possible, the information that you include must be relevant to the position that you are applying for.

You should come up with a statement that gives you reason why you should be called for an interview and why you would be the perfect candidate among all other candidate. Example, having 15 years experience as head of operations at a local firm and wide range of skills, knowledge and experience that I have gained over the years it is no doubt that I am the man for the job. I have worked I manufacturing and industrial firms and constant appraisal for great job well done have lead me to be one of the best in my field.

There must be a section on your resume that lists some of your skills, traits, accomplishments, achievements and career history. The list above should have relevance on the job that you are aiming to get. There is no need as someone you is applying for a job as operations manager to include in your resume your skills as a skate boarding enthusiast but rather you should include that under extra curricular activities.

Extra curricular activities say a lot about you , for example if in your spare time you fix boats or build miniature models of boats and you are applying for a job as an architect then your chances of getting the job are enhanced as the recruiter will see that you have infrastructural development as part of your personality and just as a job. A nurse who in her spare time volunteers at a local old people’s home will most definitely get the job. Some of you might have seen on television that students in medical school spend some of their time volunteering at a hospital this is so that they can boost their resume and have people be character references who are in the same profession as they want to get into.

Experience is key so when listing your experiences and the companies that you last worked for be sure to include the positions that you held. The achievements and responsibilities that you had. It some times helps to get into the specifics of the kind of operations that you where in charge of and the contribution you had in making a success of the firm. Operations manager is part of management so great interpersonal and leadership skills are needed. Your resume should detail some of the initiatives that you came up with to improve the overall performance of the company.

Management will expect a certain level of professionalism and your resume should show you’re a person with a good track record in dealing with all stake holders involved
