Nagano is a prefecture in Japan located in the Chubu region. Nine of the twelve highest mountains in Japan are found in this inland prefecture. Nagano is bordered by the highest number of other prefectures in Japan and is located furthest from the ocean as compared to all the other prefectures. The capital city is Nagano.

Tourism is a dominating industry in the prefecture. It has a number of areas, and buildings which are tourist attractions and good for sight seeing.
