A resume for a manager has to be very professional because a manger is someone who will be working in a professional capacity. A management resume has to be detailed and present your information in the most effective manner possible. The management sector is very broad for example you can be employed in many different management posts this means that people looking for management posts are more likely to find one, for example you can be the Chief Executive Officer, managing director, sales, manager, finance manger, managing director, human resources manager, advertising manager, public relations manager, supervisor, departmental manager etc.
When writing your management resume you have to be very professional in your approach of writing the resume, this means that you have to use very management oriented words such as delegate, subordinates, directed workflow, supervised, administered. You will have to include all your academic qualifications stating the academic institutions that you have attended, if you have engaged in any management projects then you have to highlight these stating your contribution in the management process and how you assisted in getting the project completed, in reducing the budget and in organizing the resources.
When writing your resume it is important to pay attention to what the employers want for example if the employer state in their job description that they want someone with a A.A Degree or a B.A Degree, at least three years experience in a management post and a clean class 4 drivers license then you have to structure your resume in line with the job description and highlight those aspects about you that are required in the job description.
Your management resume must include your areas of expertise, there are many such areas of expertise that you are of importance in a management post, for example strategic planning, budget planning, inventory control, warehousing, retail distribution, incentive structures, P&L management, performance standards, systems management, procurement, sales and marketing, merchandise displays, safety compliance, mentoring and leadership etc, highlighting your expertise in any of these will be to your advantage.

When writing a management resume you will have to write a very factual resume so you have to be professional at all times for example avoid using clichés that are vague and not precise for example “I am a good communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills” instead you have to provide facts that prove that you are a good communicator such as the number of languages that you can speak, hear, and write, provide facts about teams that you have lead and state the project that you led the team in this will prove your good interpersonal skills. Other skills that you would have to highlight in your management resume are your computer skills because computer literacy is a must in any profession these days so if you are proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Windows NT/98/2000, spreadsheets, and database management then you will need to state this in your management resume.
