The quality assurance officer is there to make sure that the buildings that are being built or renovated are strong enough to withstand pressure. This job has become a must have for all construction crews that operate in the country because after the tsunami the investigation of the tsunami revealed that some of the buildings were not strong enough to with stand the force that the natural disaster had.

In the city of jaffna there are a lot of non governmental organizations that operate in the districts of the city and thus some one can be a volunteer to help people that are in need. The jobs that are there include food distribution, providing counseling and transportation of equipment and personnel. There are non governmental organizations that recruit people to volunteer those services like professional doctors that are part of the doctors without borders. Security services are needed in the area because of the fighting that goes on in the city or area surrounding the city. Hospitality professionals are also needed in the city from waiters, chefs, chauffeurs, translators and barman. Floor workers at most of the resorts are kept for the locals.

Call centre agents, these are employees for centers that deal with advertising products to potential customers. Some call center agents deal with assisting people that have bought electronic equipment and are failing to operate them. Most of the electronic equipment is satellite radio. Engineers, the job of this type are needed for people to work on the network and the road infrastructure as the city has crowded roads. The jobs in the city main have some connection to tourism.
