Iwate is a prefecture in Japan located in the Tohoku region in Honshu Island. Out of thirteen cities, Morioka is the capital city. Iwate borders, Aomori Prefecture on the north, Miyagi prefecture on the south and Akita Prefecture on the west. It faces the Pacific Ocean in the east. It is also surrounded by mountains.
Employment in this prefecture is largely by the service sector. Employment opportunities include police men, firemen, doctors, nurses, construction workers and engineers. Other industries provide employment but in small proportions. There is little industrial activity with semiconductor and communications manufacturing being the most active.

The production process involves a number of stages running from malting, mashing, steeping, kilning, fermentation to cooling and bottling. Main responsibilities being to manage each step ensuring the correct temperatures and time allowances are applied in order to produce quality beer or beverages. Also required to maintain cleanliness and avoid contamination and food poisoning. Packaging is another responsibility, as it is almost specific so as to avoid contamination from container to the contents.
Art is considered as an important industry in the prefecture with prestigious local artists such as Tetsuguro. This has given rise to exhibitions held with national and international themes. These allow upcoming artists to display their work and also provide opportunities for artists in this department. Also entertainment is characteristic during these exhibitions in the form of dancing, singing and displaying of plays. Dancers, singers, musicians, actors/actresses, are the various job opportunities in this sector.
Food outlets, restaurants benefit from these exhibitions as they attract tourist locally and internationally cooks, waiters/waitresses, till operators and barman/lady are the job opportunities in this sector. This has caused an increase in the tourism industry with historic buildings and their unique food and museum as their main attractions. Also accommodation facilities such as hotels require butlers, maids, cleaners, receptionists, maintenance workers, secretaries, and security officers are job opportunities available. The management team opportunities include accountants, administrators, finance directors and supervisors.
