Hyogo is a prefecture in Japan located in the Kinki region on Honshu Island. Kobe is the capital city out of twenty-nine cities. Hy?go has coastlines on two seas: to the north, the Sea of Japan, and to the south, the Inland Sea. The northern portion is sparsely populated, except for the city of Toyooka, and the central highlands are only populated by tiny villages. Most of Hy?go’s population lives on the southern coast, which is part of the Osaka-Kyoto- Kobe metropolitan area. Awaji Island is an island in the Inland Sea, lying between Honshu and Shikoku.
Hyogo Prefecture indulges in a number of heavy industries metal and medical. The medical industry a number of facilities, laboratories and research institutes are housed in the prefecture. There is also manufacturing of construction, mining and military equipment. This provides opportunities for technicians and engineers. A Japanese steel manufacturer is headquartered in the capital city, Kobe. It is in operation worldwide and is a large employer.
Information technology is also an industry in the prefecture which provides employment opportunities for database administrators, IT programmers, software engineers and computer engineers. There is also manufacture of computer hardware. Electric and architectural equipment are manufactured together with photovoltaic panels, televisions, air conditioners, mobile phones and Uninterruptible Power supply systems. Highly qualified personnel are required in this line of work including engineers. Generally as noted above Hyogo prefecture provides employment for those in heavy industry especially engineers. A natural science is an area of research in the area and employs plant scientists and environmentalists.
