Since the independence the literacy rate has improved a lot which means that the people have realized the importance of education. There are several colleges in the city which are associated with University of Punjab and the GIFT University. The GIFT University has been recently upgraded to W category which is the highest category applicable to Universities in Pakistan.
Overall conditions suggest that Gujranwala city has good prospect for students who want to work hard and earn handsome money for the future.
