Tourism has always been a big industry in china because of it’s ability to retain ancient buildings that today still stand and are very magnificent. Museums, parks, gardens, and galleries are characteristic of this place. Guides are required in all these places as tour guides or tourist guides.
There are roughly 17 hotels in the city. Waitresses, security gurads, cleaners, cooks, accountants, receptionists and barman are job opportunities this industry can offer.

The media constitutes of radio, television and newspapers. Journalists, editors, writers, publishers, cameramen, television and radio presenters and producers find their way in this sector.

Education in the city is concentrated on higher education institutions which are numerous. A single university is able to accommodate 20 000teachers and 50 000 staff. Teachers, administrators, bursars, teaching assistants, general workers (cleaners) have job opportunities in this sector. Also the campuses have canteens catering for the students this requires cooks, till operators, salesperson and in some circumstances waitresses and barman/lady.

Environmentalists have vast job opportunities as the city is practicing use of LPG. They are required to help maintain low levels of air pollution aside chemists who seek alternative fuel which is not hazardous to the health of the people or the environment.

Sculpture, pottery and embroidery, is a practice in Guangzhou that posses as a job opportunity for sculptures, pottery makers and embroidery work. Enterprises in these departments are also available in the city.

In the food industry cured meat is sold and processed at Canton Bacon. Before slaughter the cattle are to be monitored and kept in good health. Herdmen are required for this purpose. After slaughter food scientists are responsible for the processing of the meat Administrators, accountants, cleaners, health inspectors and supervisors are required in the running of the plant.

Beer is also manufactured and job opportunities are more or less the same as the Canton Bacon enterprise.
