Executive Resume
A resume is an important part of your job search because it creates the first and most lasting impressions than anything else. If you are looking for a job you have to aim to create a good resume as it is one of the most important tools in a job such, a resume is your representative to the employer, and it should be able to give your potential employers an insight into your expertise, personality and abilities. Because of the nature of this field your resume has to be written perfectly, to achieve this you have to focus on two things which are
1. you have to pay attention to the way you layout your resume, the layout has to be effective and clean, this means skip any information that is irrelevant to the post no matter how tempted you are to include it.
2. the second thing you have to pay attention to is your written English, good grammar is essential especially if you are going to be an executive, there are things that you have to avoid when writing the resume for example mixing typefaces, using fancy typefaces, using italics and cramming all you stuff onto one page is very bad, because the way it is finally presented is not befitting someone who wants to become an executive. An executive has to be neat and organized and your resume should reflect these traits.
The thing in your resume as with all other resumes is the contact details such as name, address, phone number including cell if you have one, and email address.
The next item in your resume should be a brief summary documenting your working experiences, if you have ever worked in a similar position at any other corporation you will have to give a brief but detailed account of the experience gained, the duration of employment, and duties and responsibilities that you undertook in that job. You will also have to highlight areas of expertise that are relevant to this position examples of such expertise that you could include are market analysis, sales management, product management, electronic banking, branch banking, and new product development, expertise any or all of these areas will be an added advantage.
the executive field is a very broad and diverse field so you can be sure that you will get a job in field for example you could apply for any of the following posts, claims examiner, director of operations, executive marketing director, field assurance coordinator, chief executive officer, chief operations officer, field assurance coordinator, assistant vice president and many more other posts that you could fill.
When writing your resume it is important to keep the resume simple, but exciting. the resume should not be more than two pages and if you are an executive who has worked in this field before and thus have a longer resume you might have to condense all that information into just two pages, remember most human resources managers don’t really have time to read all the resumes they receive so keep it short and simple.
