Designer Resume
A designer is someone who has to be creative all the time, be able to come up with new, innovative and exciting ideas at all times, since you are a designer your creative abilities have to be reflected even in your resume, your resume is a form of advertisement for yourself so if you are looking for a job in a good design company then you have ensure that you market yourself well, this means that you have to make your resume as professional as possible. Your resume has to be as short and straight to the point as possible, and you should ensure that you only include information that is relevant to the job.
The first thing in your resume should identification, this section of the resume should include all personal details such as name, age , sex, marital status etc, it should also have contact details like home address, business address, home and business number plus e-mail address. After this you will need to highlight your academic qualifications this section of the resume should be clearly documented and must include information about the various academic institutions attended, the years of attendance and qualifications attained at the institutions whether they are degrees, or majors.
Your resume as a designer should be able to portray your abilities and strengths to the potential employer. The design sector is very broad and you could be involved in one of many design activities for example you could be in the fashion, TV, art, radio, theater or any other industry that requires creativity. A designer is some someone who has to be very create, come up with new ideas and concepts and such has to have certain characteristics for example he should be enthusiastic, sincere, friendly, punctual, flexible, have leadership qualities, be a quick learner, organized, be able to work with a team, honest, dependable, have interpersonal skills, and be able to work under pressure all these characteristics are important because for example interpersonal skills are necessary because as a designer you work with a lot of people including the client and the design team. A designer has to be organized because they will be working with deadlines so they need to be time conscious and meet deadlines all these characteristics should be reflected in your resume.
The resume should have a contact details such as your full name, address, telephone and email. The resume should also include a statement that talks about your career goals and should express your strengths and specific interests in the job. You should then include in your resume any qualifications that you have attained that qualify you for the post that you are applying for, and include other skills such computer literacy stating your level of proficiency in the specific language, system, or program.
If you are a professional with a some experience in the design field then you will have to include all of this stating the degree or major attained, the date of graduation, work experience naming the employer, the job title that you held the duties and responsibilities in that job.
