Dental Resume
Unlike the assistant of a dentist, the dentist does not need to have any secretarial experiences he just has to know his job as a dentist. As a dental professional your résumé should embody the following attributes expertise, clinical skills and strengths.
A trip to the dentist is a scary thought for many and thus you should be able to demonstrate in your resume the skill to calm down the patients that you are working on. Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, dedication and professionalism are some of the strengths that are supposed to be reflected by your resume. Before you start writing your resume it is best to research the kind of dental organization you want to join as well as the kind of career path you want to take in dentistry. Jot down skills, academic achievements and experience.
I your statement of objective your have to state what kind of position you will be best suited for and what you will be able to achieve in that position. Experienced dentist have to write about the skills that they have acquired over they years, you should only include skills that are of relevance to the position that you are applying for. If possible include how developed and demonstrated those skills in your previous areas of employment.
An example of such a statement would be after twenty years of being a dentist and having acquired all four phases of dentistry, I am greatly equipped to face challenges that I am faced with in terms of those associated with the field of dentistry. I have also gained the ability to present a favorable image of the profession and can start and maintain excellent doctor to patient relationship. To dentists who are not yet experienced it is best to include the experience you got as dental assistant, hands on experience.
Multi language speakers are at an advantage in this profession and if you are one then make sure to include it in your resume and not forgetting computer skills especially those that are related to work. Listing all your dental skills is a double edged knife as you might include skills that are irrelevant to the job that you are applying for. The use action words are a great key for you to make the reader keen to see you in person. You should write in a way that creates a mental picture of where you will be working and what sort of contribution you will be making
You showed demonstrate the skills to perform various dental procedures with ease and little supervision and some one who is experienced your track record should speak for its self. Your ability to communicate various ways for patients to take care of their teeth (for example oral) should be evident and as well being a support structure for patients who are suffering emotionally because of the state of their teeth.
Experience is key in this job and thus you should be able to show an abundance of that.
